Review:
Nik Antona, Camra's national chairman, said The guide was independent and only five pubs had been in every edition since it was first published in 1972; If a pub has not been chosen in this year's guide having been represented in the past, that doesn't necessarily mean that their pub or beer quality has gone down - the competition in the local area has just gotten stiffer This impartial and independent process provides our readers with a trustworthy and up-to-date list of local pubs and gives listed pubs an accreditation that's really worth bragging about. --BBC News
Bristol's very best pubs have been recognised in the Good Pub Guide 2020. The newest addition of the annual book has been published and once again honours the UK's finest pubs. It combines 'meticulous attention to detail and countless reader reports' to ensure only the very best of the nation s watering holes make the cut. In Bristol there are 654 pubs in the guide and only one earns the distinguished 'recommended' seal of approval, but a further 39 are judged to be 'worth a visit', which is the second-highest honour. The Highbury Vaults, which was named one of the cosiest pubs in the UK last year, is the best pub in Bristol according to the guide. --Bristol Live
